Who we are and what we do

The Universities in Central Florida Furs (UCF Furs) is a group of collegiate furries based in central Florida. This club is not tied to any specific university and welcomes perspective and current students, as well as alumni of all central Florida universities.

Membership

The group consists of current current students, prospective students, alumni, and other collegiate minded individuals in the central Florida area. We do not charge dues or fees for membership as this is a casual group.

History

On September 29th, 2013 a group known as UCF Furry was founded by Shadow-Faux who created a Facebook group for furries at the University of Central Florida. This group was small and gained one or two members per year. It eventually became inactive in late 2014. Unrelated to UCF Furry, the  University of Central Florida Furs (UCF Furs) started to grow during the Spring 2016 semester and gained about 20 members by the end of the semester. Knights of The Paw (Knip), the University of Central Florida furry RSO, was later created in 2020 (link to join if you are a current UCF student below). In 2021 the University of Central Florida Furs transitioned into the Universities in Central Florida Furs and now welcomes collegiate individuals from all central Florida universities. The UCF Furs remain focused on creating an environment for new college students looking for casual fellowship as they make the next big step in their education, as well as connecting current students and alum that may have already completed the college experience.
